I wasn’t always a book lover. In fact, I didn’t become a “serious” reader until middle school. It was Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies series that got me hooked. In 6th or 7th grade I remember reading a new book every couple of days. I was addicted. Then a friend told me he liked me better when I wasn’t a nerd (*eye roll* Boys. Am I right?) so I gave up my books to join the popular crowd. I mean, what else is a 7th grader to do? Then years passed, a few books were read here and there, I felt like I didn’t have the time or the energy. Regardless, I knew that I still loved books. So when I got to take a Young Adult Literature class and my project was to read 12 young adult books for the semester, my love was rekindled. I knew that I could no longer live without books. We have been inseparable ever since. This blog is our baby. I know she seems small now but she is going to grow. You should stick around and watch it happen.
